Casting Call For "Nerd Girls" And/Or Aspiring Reality-TV Stars

Nerd Girls is currently casting "smart, sexy, and tech savvy" ladies for what promises to be a very-subtle pilot. Interested? If you're willing to embody a vision of both "pink heels" and "pocket protectors," here are the awkward details:

CASTING CALL - Smart, Sexy and Tech Savvy? - WE WANT YOU!

MPH Entertainment, producers of the Emmy nominated, hit TV show "Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan," is in pre-production on, and casting its new reality pilot, "NERD GIRLS."

Inspired by the Tufts University curriculum and the web site Nerdgirls.com, both created by Dr. Karen Panetta, an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Tufts, the series concept follows Panetta's original premise behind the program, and web site, of working toward dismantling two common "myths." First, boys are better at math and science than girls; and second, that a female engineer is socially inept with no sense of style.

"The Nerd Girls may not look like your stereotypical pocket-protector-loving misfits-their adviser, Karen Panetta, has a thing for pink heels-but they're part of a growing breed of young women who are claiming the nerd label for themselves. In doing so, they're challenging the notion of what a geek should look like, either by intentionally sexing up their tech personas, or by simply finding no disconnect between their geeky pursuits and more traditionally girly interests such as fashion, makeup and high heels." Newsweek - 7/08

Each episode will involve various "nerd girls" attempting to complete tasks requiring their unique set of skills in an effort to develop solutions for real world problems and improve the quality of life, our environment, etc.

"Women ages 18-23 who are interested in becoming a Nerd Girl are encouraged to visit www.nerdgirls.com for application and submission information.
