Angelina To Play Scarpetta; Depp Wants To Free West Memphis Three

  • Uh-oh. This could be controversial, if you have read the books: Angelina Jolie will play Kay Scarpetta of the bestselling Particia Cornwell mystery novels.

Apparently the screenplay is set before the height of Scarpetta's career, when she is "charting her course, and trying to break the glass ceiling." Screenwriter Kerry Williamson adds: "She sees what society might consider her female traits — intuition, compassion, instinct — as a weakness in the real world. Yet that is where her power lies. Her evolution is into accepting that." As for Cornwell, she admits: "I can understand why the studio doesn't want to launch her as someone's who's my age." Lots more at the link! [LA Times]

  • TOTALLY SHOCKING BREAKING NEWS: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are together. And he admitted it at a BAFTA party. He said: "It is extremely difficult but we are together, yes. We are here together and it's a public event but it's not easy. We have to do all this stuff to avoid attention." [The Sun, Telegraph, Daily Mail]
