Heidi Montag's new face looked even more disturbing this morning in her first TV interview since getting 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day. Fortunately GMA, unlike People, took Heidi to task on the message she's sending.
Not that Heidi's answers were any more satisfying. She denied that she had the surgeries to coincide with the release of her new album, saying that's just "God's timing." Heidi also explained that she isn't addicted to surgery because,
If I were addicted, I would have had 10 plastic surgeries... I mean 10 times. I really had two different surgeries. I had one three years ago and then I had one that I had several procedures done weeks ago. If you're addicted to something you have to do it all the time.
Considering that she told Extra she's already planning another breast enhancement to make her DDDs bigger - "I like the F. I actually want H for Heidi" - maybe we shouldn't take her word for it.
Good Morning America demonstrated more journalistic scruples than People while reporting this story, though that isn't saying much (especially since People is still milking its story, posting a new behind the scenes video today). Reporter Juju Chang interviewed a doctor who said performing so much surgery on a 23-year-old is unethical and and challenged Heidi's warped views on body image, but GMA still gave Heidi what she wants: more media exposure and the validation that major news outlets consider her worth covering.
