The premiere of
Gratuitous Remake The Taking Of Pelham 1 2 3 at Westwood's Mann Village Theatre was...something else. Sure, Taraji and Aisha looked great. And then there was Cloris Leachman. And Kim Kardashian. And did we mention Bai Ling?
Taraji P Henson is like Athena: it's as though she emerged, majestic and with a perfect sense of style more developed than those of stars who've had ten years in the spotlight to perfect the art.
Aisha Tyler works her height with such confidence; you never see her retreating into some lame pee-pee-induced I'm-a-little-teapot!
Major props to AnnaLynne McCord for embracing her curls (not that she doesn't have the choice, of course.)
Cloris Leachman's mind is one I wouldn't mind inhabiting, Malkovich-style (except with her mind.) Especially when she's standing in front of her closet and selecting this transparent shirt. Is it just a fuck it, she can, thing? I mean, by all means, carry on!
I personally think Kim Kardashian is stunning. Sometimes in my mind I give her a makeover and dress her just like Gina Lollobrigida in Roma, Roma, Roma!
Amanda Righetti has seen Pretty Woman a few too many times. Although that shorts getup she wears to the polo match or whatever would be worse.
Props to LaLa for seeing her motif through in every facet of her outfit. Questions on making that motif "the furious cat."
Jo Champa's doily is fascinating: you can look and look and still not be sure what the worst thing about it is.
Nipples: A Dress dress is actually something a little girl would covet, which one cannot say of most of her wardrobe! It's like Odette's sister, Nipplette!
As we know, I am obsessed with Kat Kramer, who is ubiquitous, has a MySpace, and whose closet appears to resemble the Upper East Side branch of HousingWorks thrift shop, on those drop-off days when old ladies bring in Lilly Pulitzer and Reagan-era Cassini and old Cuisinart Lo-Fat cookbooks.
