Witchy Woman

Anyone from the illustrious village of Hastings-on-Hudson can only be thrilled to see that famed former resident, Ziegfeld Follies beauty and Glinda the Good Witch player Billie Burke is getting the biographical treatment:

Mrs. Ziegfeld, The Public and Private Lives of Billie Burke, by Grant Hayter-Menzies. While Burke might be best known to the younger generation for traveling in a soap bubble, she was one of the biggest celebrities of the early 20th century, known both as a stage and screen presence and as the wife of Broadway impresario Flo Ziegfeld. (And, obviously, for giving the Burke Estate, sight of a thousand AYSO triumphs, its name.) [Village Voice]
