I was kind of surprised that it took this long for Peggy Olson to get Freddy Rumsen's old office. But I guess that's a perfect example of how you'll never get anything in life by expecting it to be handed to you. You have to ask for it. Which is exactly what Peggy did on last night's episode of Mad Men when she got fed up with not being taken seriously and having to share a room with a Xerox machine. Later on, as she was setting up in her new spot, it became painfully obvious how, although Joan and Peggy sit only a few feet from each other, the separate paths they've chosen to take make them seem worlds apart. While Joan seemed to have "won" the game of life by landing a handsome doctor, the fact that he date raped her shows that following a set of rules that you had nothing to do with creating will not lead to happiness.
