Yesterday, Tyra sat down with a large group of teenage girls (ages 13-years-old and up) who are either pregnant or trying to get pregnant, because they want babies so badly. Naturally, their reasons are pretty stupid (one 14-year-old girl says she wants a baby because baby showers are fun), and they clearly haven't thought anything through, particularly about the financial burden of raising a child. It's baffling to me why this is such a trend. Tyra pinned it on Jamie Lynn Spears and the fact that so much tabloid gossip is focused around "baby bumps." But there's obviously something else at play, since most of the girls she spoke with had been abandoned by one or both parents, and they were looking for someone to love them unconditionally.
