Today's New Yorker Book Bench takes on Janes in Love, a graphic novel about a group of badass, artistic teenagers all named Jane. The sequel to The P.L.A.I.N. Janes, Janes in Love takes a candid and nonjudgmental view of teen relationships, sexuality, and shark attacks. Sounds pretty awesome to us, but it's got poor Book Bench fanning its face with its white leather gloves. BB warns "they don't call them graphic novels for nothing," then offers up several panels where the characters say "bitch," "butch," and "tits." Heavens! (We should note that, hand-wringing aside, BB did actually like the book.)
