English sociologist Dr. Jessica Ringrose is proposing that feminism be taught in UK classrooms in order to combat the fact that "many schoolgirls defined themselves according to male desire," the Telegraph reports. Ringrose thinks feminist icons like Virgina Woolf, Emmeline Pankhurst, and even Lisa Simpson should be "used as positive role models for young women." Lisa Simpson as feminist icon?
