Luke's Parental Advisory, the reality show about 2 Live Crew's Luther "Luke" Campbell's family life, premiered on VH1 last night. While I love some of the filthy sentiments expressed in 2 Live Crew's music, and the fact that they went all the way to the Supreme Court for the right to express it, Luke was a disappointment. I was hoping he would surprise us by being totally different from his songs, but he was totally the sexist, double-standard-holding asshole that I really didn't want him to be. While he is marrying a lawyer who, despite her choice in men, is otherwise intelligent, he still was all about strippers and hos, and how his sons should be players but his daughter shouldn't be a slut, and whether or not the girl his young son was dating was hot. They even looked her up on MySpace. I don't know if he's really just like that, or if he's trying to seem cool, but overall, it was just tired. Clip above.
