With the July 17th death of Tech. Sgt. Jackie L. Larsen, 37, in Iraq, women service members have reached a grim milestone — 100 women have died in Iraq to date. Larsen's death has been classified as the result of natural causes, but that certainly doesn't lessen the grief for her friends of family. The Iraq war has claimed the lives of 4,082 service members to date and a documented 95,000 Iraqi civilians. [CNN, Global Security, Iraq Body Count]
