Yesterday marked the premier of Gucci's first-ever cruise-wear collection. This is becoming increasingly common as the obstreperous economy takes its toll on the fashion world. The idea, I guess, is that more collections optimize selling opportunities — and it's not as if it's exactly paupers riding the QE2. Whatever the impetus, the collection was terrific: when you think about it, cruise and Gucci are a match made in luxe heaven. The clothes featured below are kinda Anita Pallenberg-y and haute-bohemian and South-of-Francey and generally fantasy-rich in the way you want clothes for a cruise to be.
