On this day in history... bad things happened. (Well, on any day in history bad things happened, but, yeah.) Joseph Smith, the founder of the Church of Latter Day Saints, was murdered (1844); the U.S. made the decision to send troops to the Korean peninsula, where tens of thousands of American soldiers were killed (1950); and Route 66 ceased to be a highway (1985). But! Two good things also occurred: Gordon Brown succeeded British Prime Minister Tony Blair (2007), and, in 2008, we thanked the sponsors who help keep us up and running. Sincere thanks to Chelsea Art Museum, The Beach House, Honda Fit, MGM Grand Foxwoods, & Top Tips for Girls. Want to make it into our living history books? Click here.
