Check it out: It's ANTM Cycle 10 winner Whitney Thompson's photos (taken by noted fashion photographer Nigel Barker) and interview from the forthcoming July issue of Seventeen. It's kinda great that the "full figure" girl won the cycle that featured a bikini shoot, so they weren't able to hide her body behind ponchos and shit. What's bizarre is that Whitney claims that she's a size 14, but with skinny arms, a flat belly, and what looks to be boobs not much bigger than a B cup, we don't see how she's anything larger than an 8 or a 10. She could very well be a size 14. I'm a size 10/12 and people often think misjudge my weight and size (going lower, mercifully). She looks great in these shots. Go Whit!

she said on the show that she is an 8....I'm smaller than a 14 but my tummy doesn't have that vertical line dent that skinny people (and whitney) have. I think she is definitely smaller.

very few people are the same size on top as they are on bottom. and when i say i'm a "size 14" i'm talking about my pant size. depending on the brand of bottoms, she is easily a size 14. and so what! she looks in great shape to me. very taut and fit.
Yeah, she looks fucking hot, but she doesn't look like all the other rail-thin models out there.
Now, my next dream: a photo shoot with a model that looks like this that's not full of pull quotes about "acceptance" and "loving yourself." It's like when any mag has the "shape issue," you know they're going to claim for a month that they're OK with regular sizes.

Woah, I <3 Whitney, but why did Nigel Barker take such horrible photos of her? In every single one, she looks like she was on the verge of saying something before she got cut off and her picture snapped.

She looks absolutely gorgeous, but I agree...doesn't seem size 14 to me. I'm her height (5'10"ish) and I size 10/12 and I'm bigger than she is...I think.
Also, there are a bunch of conspiracy theories floating the internet that she was about a size 4 and was approached by ANTM. They said, you won't make it at that size because you're too big to be a skinny model, but if you gained some weight...they had some pics of her looking really really thin...I don't even know what to believe.

Okay, I had to squint and I'm old so I couldn't quite read all the text but I'm interested in the context of Whit's instruction to Tyra about egg sucking.
She kind of flares/pushes her lips out when she smiles, and I have to say it annoys me like crazy. Smile naturally, girl! Stop doing Anna Nicole lips!!!

@katekate: Remember she's also probably around 5'11. Tall people (itty bitty models aside) usually wear bigger sizes than most expect!
A size 14 at 5'11" looks very different than a size 14 at 5'3", I buy her as a 14 even though they called her a 10 on the show.
I just wish it weren't such a novelty to see a Whitney-esque person modeling bathing suits in a context that has nothing to do with hiding flaws or losing weight.

She is definitely not plus-sized, but I can see her as a 12/14. I am currently hovering between 12/14 and I don't see much of a difference in my body and hers other than my unfortunately huge cans.
I thought Tyra Banks was the world's first plus size supermodel.

She says "When I wear a size 14..." which I think means she may have been a 14 in the past or that maybe she wears a 14 in certain brands. I think she said on ANTM she was an 8-10.

She is tall though, so she could be a 14. I'm a 14, but unfortunately probably almost a foot shorter than her. I look like a Pokemon (Boobasaur?? Booooobasaur).

Oh no no, I don't care what she looked like before, she looks fabulous now and I think it's awesome a somewhat real looking woman won! I'm more interested in the multiple rumors going around that ANTM approached her and asked her to gain weight because they wanted a "full-size" model to make it to the end. Not that I am giving those theories much weight...just putting it out there.

@ineffable.me: the simple fact that all the commenters here are commenting about what she is stating as her dress size is exactly the point that whitney is trying to make. does it REALLY MATTER? it's a tag in the back of your clothes that only you can see. is your entire self-worth tied up in what the number on the back of your clothes that nobody else can see but you? in what your cup size is? in your waist measurement? all the comments about what "my ass" or "my boobs" look like in comparison to hers so "she just can't be a size 14" is bullshit. whitney looks good. she won the competition and just happens to be plus-sized. she's over it. it's about time everybody else got over it, too.

all during the show she was saying she was an 8/10, and that's what everything I read said.
Then there was some scandal (after her win) about calling her "plus-sized" when that is always 14 and over, so as a size 8, she shouldn't be called a plus-sized model.
So now, all of a sudden, she just HAPPENS to say she's a size 14? So she can legitimately be called "plus-sized"?
