Dawson, whose music with The Moldy Peaches has received a lot of attention following its use on the soundtrack of recent
Oscar winner Juno, is in talks with TV bosses to compose and record songs for Sesame Street.
She
tells Billboard.com, "I might do some music work with (Sesame Street),
which is like my dream. I'm a kid of the '70s, and I definitely grew up
with Sesame Street - the old Sesame Street. I'm just a huge, huge fan."
And
Dawson insists she is the perfect candidate for Sesame Street as she's
just finished recording a new album of children's music, Alphabutt.
Describing
that disc, Dawson adds, "I think the songs are really free, which is a
little different from a lot of other kids music I've heard. And I think
kids will connect with it, musically, because it's actually kids
playing. It's really free and kind of wild."
