Recording artist Beyoncé Giselle Knowles, 26, and music mogul Shawn Corey Carter, the rapper known as Jay-Z, 37, were wed yesterday in a small, private ceremony in New York, reports People. Immediately following the vows, a lavish party was held on the roof of the building in Tribeca where Mr. Z owns a loft. In attendance were the bride's mother, Tina Knowles, her father/manager Mathew, her sister Solange, Destiny's Child singers Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and the actress Gwyneth Paltrow, a friend of the couple. 50,000 to 60,000 white orchids from Thailand were ordered for the event and DJ Cassidy provided the tunes.
