Aside: Julia Roberts pretty much played a 1988 version of me in Mystic Pizza. Snarky, slutty Portuguese girl living in the town I grew up in...someday I will meet her and freak her out with that fact.
@Rhody: Sandra Bullock always plays me in movies. It's kind of irritating. Examples being The Yaya Sisterhood movie and A Time to Kill. I would prefer Winona Ryder.
@Rhody: Buffallo chicken pizza isn't on the Mystic Pizza II menu, but they'll make it if you ask nicely. My waitress had to calm me down and assure me they knew how to make it and had plenty of blue cheese. We only go to either in the winter, when there are fewer tourists taking pictures.
@blondegrlz: Hahaha. All the waitresses there are girls I went to high school with. For some reason, I think they would be less accomidating if I made the same request.
@blondegrlz: @Rhody: But really, though? I don't understand why anyone would go to Mystic and order pizza. Everytime I'm by the water, I want fried shrimp and onion rings. And a big ol' lemonade.
And maybe one of those Barley lollipops from the Seaport.
@hortense: All I want are fritters and ice cream. There is a reason I only visit the hometown in the summer.
And, seriously, if you plan your vacation around a movie that was nominally successful in 1988, well, you have bigger problems than your summer food choices.
@Rhody: Fritters! Fair food! Now I want it to be August and to be on a ferris wheel smelling all manner of wonderful fried things like fritters and elephant ears and insane sausage dogs and turkey legs. I need to eat breakfast.
@hortense: @Rhody: @mccauller=texaspride.: Anytime you Jezzies need some Mystic pizza, seaport lolipops, fried clams or some drawbridge ice cream, just let me know. I also have a friend who owns a vineyard here, in case all that history and food makes you thirsty.
@blondegrlz: @NefariousNewt: Awww...you guys talking about Mystic is making me a little homesick. Luckily, Mr Rhody and I are taking the dogs to visit my parents and nephew next weekend. Dogs+3 yearold+ beach = fun, fun times.
@lesleykat: it's the convent of the sacred heart and it's actually on fifth ave...i spent the entirety of my miserable education behind that deceptively beautiful facade. ha.
It's okay, don't feel bad. Sandra doesn't make it easy, mostly by making such poor choices in movies. Geez, how many B films can she make? I'd love to see her knock it out of the park one day. I do agree about her eyebrows...And I would add to that hair, smile, teeth, legs. Pretty lady.

Wasn't it too warm yesterday for a down-filled jacket? I almost went out in shorts.
Still, its a cute outfit.
Mah colors are goth and grumpy, Mama!
Eh. She looks fine to me.

@Rhody: Mmmmm...Mystic Pizza is delicious, especially the buffallo chicken kind, with blue cheese for dipping. I'm drooling.
I like her shoes and thankfully, she looks like she's dealing with the same cold crappy weather as I am.
@hortense: Haha. Thanks, now I'm picturing them force-feeding her some OJ.
A low grade? I bet she looks bangin' under that coat.
@blondegrlz: I am partial to Mystic Pizza II (can't believe I just wrote that...) better pizza, no tourists.
@Rhody: Sandra Bullock always plays me in movies. It's kind of irritating. Examples being The Yaya Sisterhood movie and A Time to Kill. I would prefer Winona Ryder.
@hortense: Yah colors are grey and black! :)

@blackbirdfly: I want to like Sandra Bullock. I really do. But for me, her only redeeming quality is her breathtaking eyebrows.

@hortense: I love pizza anywhere! And I have to admit, if I was there, I would go just because of the movie.
@Rhody: That's true. Mystic was always a field trip destination for me. CT Public Schools: Bringing Kids to the Aquarium since FOREVER.
@blondegrlz: Gah. YES. Now I'm ready for a road trip just for that pizza...
C'mon guys, she just left court where she was able to talk her way out of a traffic ticket. You'd dress conservatively too, for that!
Gah. This morning, I have wanted eggs, cheese, chicken, and the entire contents of a Wawa convenience store.
Now I want pizza.
I think I'm just going to threadjack every post today and subvert it so it's about food.
omg. i know exactly where that is. we did a shoot there about a year ago. across from the cooper-hewit museum up on park ave.
i stalk nyc.
@tscheese: guerrilla foodies in the house!

@hortense: I love Mystic... it seems like a quiet little corner of New England history on the water. And it's close to Mohegan Sun.
@NefariousNewt: You are, of course, also invited.
@blondegrlz: @NefariousNewt: Awww...you guys talking about Mystic is making me a little homesick. Luckily, Mr Rhody and I are taking the dogs to visit my parents and nephew next weekend. Dogs+3 yearold+ beach = fun, fun times.
@blondegrlz: Also, I worked at Drawbridge Ice Cream. For one day. It is the only job I have ever walked out of.
@tscheese:
"Threadjack" I love it! Did you make that word up?
Um, low grade sidewalk incline, yah? And I haven't even had my jug of coffee yet.
@tscheese: I fully support this jacking. I dreamed about pizza last night. Mmm... cheesy...
