ya! she's so real. I love this woman. and I really thought it was awesome how she said Alex overcompensates for her insecurity by being pretentious. Right on!

I only saw the sneak preview for this, but this woman's "boyfriend" seemed like a total asshole. He's jerkin' her around, and when she tried to talk relationships, he was all, "can we not talk about this?" I would have smacked him for trying to make me look a fool on TV.

But I can't see the clip so that's all I've got.

I like her, but she is too freaked out about her age. The way she was so afraid to talk about moving in with her boyfriend and she kept saying the "clock is ticking for me." I mean, no its not! She is hot.

I know way too much about this show.

yeah, she's definitely the wittiest, but i think she's got some MAJOR control issues and neuroses. also, i found it a little weird when they were talking smack right there at the table.

i can't believe i remember this but kansas lady and simon named their kids francois and johan because that was the name of simon's grandfather.

also, i love jill. and i don't blame bethenny's bf for not wanting to talk about his relationship on TV. I wouldn't either. that's private. she signed up for the reality show, he did not.

Alex is the girl from Kansas who has to make sure no one thinks she's "the girl from Kansas" because she has money now and that makes her (obviously) much smarter and chicer and better.

Her kids are named Johan and Francois? So....John and Frank? Hmmm.

I think Jill and LuAnn are the two legit socialites on the show, so I like them. Also, Jill is ADORABLE in her Long Island Jewishness and I LOVE it.

Alex's hair drives me insane. INSANE. HOW HOW HOW HOW HOW HOW HOW do you have that much money and not be able to afford ONE DECENT FLAT IRON? Oh my god, and a decent colorist. And stylist. I am a RECEPTIONIST and my hair looks 1000x better than hers!

In Re: fat farm -- doesn't her kid have arthritis? Because weight loss really does alleviate some of the symptoms of arthritis. And since her daughter's been back it's not like she's been a weight nazi about it.

i kind of feel bad for bethaney's bf. she got totally wasted from these lychee martinis she made herself and then tried to talk to him about commitment: bad idea. yet, she lives by the same ideas i've been following for the past 5 years of my life.

Ahh! Every time I catch part of this show I say to myself 'who is that Bethenny girl? I totally recognized her from somewhere but can't place it and always forget to look it up. This post finally made me do it and now I see that she was on that Martha Stewart Apprentice show!! I can't believe I recognized her from that because I barely watched that show. But anyway, thanks for that, and I agree she is definitely my favorite.

You guys are so good - all mentioning points that ran through my head last night. Alex and her uncombed hair, Bethenny's BF avoiding conversation in front of cameras when she was drunk.
Here's the one that bugged me: When Alex and Simon went to dinner with Jill and Bobby to schmooze a school tour, I thought A & S should have picked up the tab in gratitude. Instead they hedged until Bobby did.

I was very irked by Jill's comment last night about how Alex and her hubby go to St. Bart's on the off season. I guess it could have been editing, but it seemed like she was trying to let people know that Alex shouldn't be proud of going to St. Bart's because she goes during the cheap season while Jill goes at right time to be seen by the important people.

I knew someone like Alex who was all about sending her kids to french language immersion school. OMG you could not say anything about yourself without her having a story to top it. You gotta kind of feel bad for the kids too, you know when they get older they're going to feel like anything they do is not good enough.

@Lymed: I think that's exactly what she was doing. Because Jill is a socialite and Alex is a wannabe. I'm not saying your negative reaction to it is inappropriate, but I think you saw exactly what was going on. I kinda love the cattiness of it. And OMG, can you imagine if Alex and Simon were there when the social people were and they saw their thongs? That would be the end of any upward social mobility they had.

@stoprobbers: She sent her to a detox clinic. I think it was as much about helping her reduce pain as it was about weight loss. I'm not a Jill fan, but she clearly cares enormously for her daughter and I saw the pain in her eyes talking about her daughter's arthritis.

I love bethany but I LOVE LOVE LOVE to hate on Alex! She/they (alex + creepy hubby) are srsly becoming an obsession for me!

that detox clinic was such a joke, though. ear candles? foot baths that "suck out" all the toxins? can't she see howshe's being ripped off?

i agree that jill loves her daughter, but eating right/exercise would help her daughter more than paying thousands and thousands to some clinic in martha's vineyard

Bethenny has always been my favorite, and last night's show made me start to like Jill, too. I think the BF just didn't want to have that conversation while 1) she was drunk and 2) a camera crew was sitting there taping it. I can't say I blame him...

Last week I couldn't stand Jill for walking out of the fashion show, but then when she told the camera, regaridng Alex's kids, "She's worried about what kind of schools they're getting into. I'm worried about them getting their asses kicked", I loved her again. Her and LuAnn should just get their own show where they solve mysteries driving in the yellow Ferarri, because the other three bother me.

Betthanny wants desperately to come across as the 'careergirl' but her 'career' is in fact Reality TV star. She was on Martha Stewart's Apprentice. Her father was a well known horse trainer to the horsey set on Long Island. So she grew up in that world while not being of that world.

I like her just fine, and love how she called that woman's gay husband 'token gay friend' ! Awesome.

But she is NOT representative of New York career girls, she is a reality tv star.
