(Also, hearts on baby animals seem to be a trend: First there was the chihuahua from Japan with a heart-shaped spot on its fur, then the piglet born just this past February with a similar birthmark.) Okay, the kitten is adorable, but all I could think about was how my parents would tell us not to touch our cat's kittens. Because they said the kittens would smell like us, and the mom would reject them and/or eat them. But still totally cute! Sorry.

Re: Kitten moms rejecting/eating kittens who are handled - totes not true. I had a stray give birth in my sock drawer a couple of years ago, and ended up having to supplement feed a couple of the babies. She was absolutely fine with it (up to a certain point - if they sounded upset she would get up and meow at me until I gave them back).
But also; EEEEEE! Kitteh! Oh god, I miss my little black and white boys (and my grey and white boy). Damn grad school not letting me bring my kittehs!
