Remember the Disney Bridal collection from yesterday? Guess what: It's not just for brides! Yup: the soon-to-be betrothed can include their bridesmaids in their princess-themed nuptials. Just like the wedding dresses, the bridesmaids collection is "inspired" by Belle, Ariel, Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Snow White and each includes three styles of bridesmaids gowns. Fortunately, we find them to be a little more like their princess namesakes than the wedding dresses were. The Disney Bridal Fall 2008 bridesmaid collection, after the jump.
Ariel:
Verdict: Wow. They're all sea-colored. Deep.
Belle:
Verdict: At least one is yellow like the dress Belle danced with the Beast in.
Cinderella:
Verdict: Perfect for wicked stepsisters.
Jasmine:
Verdict: Just me, or does this model sorta look like Atoosa Rubenstein?
Sleeping Beauty:
Verdict: But no way in hell would the 'Toos wear one of these short flouncy things. Maybe the long black one though? She does have a goth side.
Snow White:
Verdict: Oh now I remember: Hair as black as coal, lips as red as cherries, skin as white as snow.

The models look to be about 12. Is this a make-believe wedding?
Jessica McClintock inspired.
Bridesmaids: the passive aggressive way to get back at your girlfriends and make theme pay, literally and otherwise.
I don't know whether to laugh, cry or throw up.
Looks like Cinderella got it the worst!
How are they any different from regular bridesmaids dresses?
Blah and ugh to most of those. And seeing the Snow White and Cinderella pictures with these posts really makes me wish they had just reworked those dresses. Those would be proper princess wedding dresses, dammit.
Damn! I really fucked up getting my bridesmaid's dresses on sale at Anthrolpologie when I could've spent probably more than 10 times that on these.
Alright, Belle's first dress looks like a wedding dress. Stupid.
Those are only good bridesmaid dresses if you are getting married at the prom.
Is that Melissa Joan Hart? I hope not. Because even Clarissa couldn't explain this hot mess.
@RyanB: @AthertonMerriweather: took the words right outta my mouth
And the tradition of ensuring the bridesmaids never outshine the bride continues...
I am leaning towards not having bridesmaids. I feel weird picking among my friends. It seems a little elementary school to me. Like, these are my BEST friends. The rest of you are just ok.
@AthertonMerriweather: great call! though I am ashamed to admit, I wanted a Jessica McClintock prom dress in high school. totally didn't get one and was pissed.
i have to say, some of those dresses (like the short pink belle one!) are wayyyyyy better looking than the MANY bridesmaid dresses i have worn in my short young life.
@melinderr: I'd give the two thumbs down to Sleeping Beauty. What's with that long black dress with the flower in the middle?
the tacky polyester fabrics, rouching, and cheesy cutouts are reminiscent of flipping through the prom issue of 'Teen'.
That first Ariel model has tan lines. No woman who would put her bridesmaids in these things would allow that at her wedding.
@ineffable.me: Please, it my day Jessica McClintock dresses were very demure.
I own a dress just like the middle Ariel one, sans bubble skirt. No way would I think of it as a bridesmaid dress. I also only paid $10 for it Ross.
Oh my. Makes me very glad my bridesmaid days are OVER.
@AthertonMerriweather: It's seriously Delia's catalog, isn't it?
Funny thing is, I've got one similar to each collection in my closet from past weddings.
@hortense: HA!
Thankfully, none of my friends are 11-year-olds who are engaged to be married.
@SarahMC: they're not. If it's gonna be a crappy Disney wedding, I want it to be an all out crappy Disney wedding. Meaning if you dress like Snow White, you DRESS like Snow White and all your bridesmaids are dressed like the 7 dwarfs.
Is it bad that I like some of these? Pink Princess Jasmine? Peach Belle on the right anyone?
payback's a bitch, or perhaps in this case, a belle
oooh, the first Arirl one isn't just sea-colored, but has ruching waves of delight! Hm. I'm ashamed of writing that.
Also, I am slightly inclined to say that if you are so obsessed with Disney Princesses that you need to buy a wedding or bridesmaids dress from this line, you are too emotionally underdeveloped to be getting married.
Just. Yuck.
Haha most of them are of the "Ugly Stepsister" variety tho seriously.
Some day my prince will come
Some day we'll dress up dumb
And away to theme park we'll be
For our tacky-ass Disney wedding
@AthertonMerriweather: Exactly. Prom circa 1991.
@Sev:
exactly. I don't understand the subtlety here at all. LOL Seven Dwarves Bridesmaids. I'd so be the Dopey of that lot.
Any woman who would purposely order "Disney" dresses for her bridesmaids or herself automatically earns a HUGE eyeroll. I can't imagine ever liking anyone like that.
Those are some tan lines. Great attention to detail, catalog putter-togetherer.
@BAngieB: Just don't do all of them at once.
@Sev: HA! That would be priceless!
The colors are not insulting enough to be bridesmaid dresses. Brides cannot put a bridesmaid in any dress that will enable them to look better than the bride.
I was half expecting to see women dressed as candlesticks, tea pots, raccoons, dwarves, mice, etc. Imagine my disappointment.
@SarahMC: Had these been available when I was married, I'm sure my ex would have ordered one. "Because she's a princess."
I want one of them to come into this thread to yell at us about how bitter we are that WE'RE not getting married to princes! We're just lesbo feminazis who are seething with jealousy! Remember her?
I . . . kind of like the Snow White designs. The rest are at least more interesting than most of the actual BRIDES' dresses.
@NefariousNewt: Does that one skanky bridesmaid get dressed up in the Sebastian Crab costume?
@SarahMC: I would disown friends if they ever decided to hold a princess themed wedding.
@Xavoc: Very true -- the colors are not hideous. This must be the Disney prom line by mistake.
@NefariousNewt: That would have been many kinds of amazing. I would actually CONSIDER that funny enough to use it.
