This is adorable. Like a grumpy toddler in a frumpy dress.
Is this an attempt to resurrect the dress over pants combo? Cause I don't, um, think it will work.
Ugh, is Patricia Field behind this?
that sounds like something i wanted to wear when i was 5, i would've gotten smacked big-time.
....I really like her fur stole.
what are they making her wear????
I just saw this being filmed! (it's being filmed right outside my work, we've been debating the merits of this dress all day and laughing that she's kept her sweats on). BTW, Hugh Dancy is just as cute in person.
I know they have two very different careers, but Amy Adams and Isla Fisher get totally confused in my head, looks-wise.
why sweatpants why? Please let them just be for warmth between takes.
I'd have the exact same look on my face if I was wearing that pink thing.
Fuck those shopaholic books, and other such nonsense chick lit books. IMHO, they enforce the stereotypes that gurlz cant reed gud and only can absorb shitty, shallow, namedropping chick lit. I've read my fair share, as my mom used to buy them for me cause "the covers were so cute!" It wasn't even trashy-interesting, like The Real Housewives of OC. It was just mind-numbing, IQ-lowering, shit.
/end rant.
@PilgrimSoul: I think it's because she's in between takes and it's cold out.
She's like, "who am I? SJP?"
I am wondering the same thing.
It's like if Cruella deVille was on My Super Sweet Sixteen, yikes.
So.Over.IT.
OHGAWD. Poor grumpy sweet honey. I feels bad for her.
Inner monologue is saying "This isn't quite how I imagined things."
@hugnkiss: You aren't the only one. I do it all the time.
@ladeedah: you know what's worse than My Super Sweet Sixteen? Mis Quince on MTV Tr3s. Girls spending the GDP of their country on complete tackyness.
@misssgolightly: whaaaa?
@misssgolightly: Have you read Jemima J, then? OH MY GOD, I HATED THAT BOOK SO FUCKING MUCH. I literally did the Dorothy Parker "This is not a book to be tossed aside lightly. It should be throwm with great force" when I was done with it.
@mllej: She's got to be. No one else is that insane.
At least I hope not. Lord help us if there is someone else in this world with her fashion "sense."
She must be playing thin Mimi from the Drew Carey Show in The Drew Carey Movie.
@bananaballs: isla fisher is filming a movie based on a series of books about a "shopaholic."
however, IMHO, they're completely harmless and entertaining to read on a lazy saturday.
Is there tulle attached to that god-awful purse?
Oh, and more to the topic, great hair, and I actually kind of like the dress. I love to put weird brights with pink. But the jacket, bag, and gloves are heinous.
@misssgolightly: amen, sister! i, too, cannot stand those chick lit books. and i promise that i'm *plenty* low-brow!
For a minute I was afraid they were making an Enchanted 2.
Could not handle that.
@misssgolightly: I agree. I had several friends recommend them to me. And I want to say also that I hate literary snobbery - - if it floats your boat, go ahead. But I could NOT handle any of the Shopaholic series because I kept wanting to wring her shallow neck.
@bananaballs: The movie she's shooting is based on "The Shopaholic" chick lit book series.
@misssgolightly: Tell it, sister.
It's just so ridic, it makes me smile.
@socalsnarkstress: @MissPeacock: They're not. She was wearing them when they were taping. I think they were shooting from the waist up today. And they're shooting in front of the Asprey store, which has redone its windows to be all dresses instead of jewelry and housewares. It's in between the YSL and Sonia Rykiel stores, so they may be in the shot too.
@misssgolightly:
But I will say that I have painted chick lit with the same brush and almost missed the fun that is/are the Marian Keyes books. I started with Sushi for Beginners and binged out on all of them.
I gotta say, I'm fascinated by the multi-colored tulle and what appears to be a giant bow on her ass. Terrified, but fascinated.
Poor thing. Seems like she's been shooting in that dress for a week. The sweats and Uggs are cuase she's cold, not fashion. Looks like hair and makeup need some touch up too. I have a feeling this movie won't be seeing me or I it.
@hugnkiss: I know the title says "Isla Fisher," but I STILL went, 'WTF happened to Amy Adams?'
@mllej: the ONLY acceptable excuse.
@seattleinthecity: Oh, me too. My favorite low-brow books are trashy biographies. Like the one of Gia, the heroin addicted model from the 70's, and Janice Dickinson's autobiograpies. I just can't stomach the "Ohmahgadz I just got the new Prada bag" books. And don't even get me started on Nicholas Sparks. But hey, whatever floats your boat.
@misssgolightly: Don't hate. I buy those books to read in the bathtub or when I am laying out in the sun. Empty calories, but delicious.
@misssgolightly: gotcha.
Oh one more thing: Ugg alert.
Can someone throw a blanket over this ridiculous costume? She looks cold.
@misssgolightly: An eleven year-old could write Nick's books. Better.
@Archetype: We have something in common besides nosepicking. I also read those books in the bathtub. I won't be so upset if they fall in: )
@hfree: ::feeling really stupid:: but what film is this?? I like hugh dancy! lol
Oh lord. It looks like SatC 2.0.
@sybann: i have similar hatred for celia ahren though. PS I Love You is known as PS I Hate That Book amongst my group of friends.
@misssgolightly: Amen! I tried to give chick-lit a chance. Every single time they failed me and I spent $14 on unreadable crap (Thank you Jesus for Borders Rewards- at least I get coupons). That "detail everything I am wearing and where I bought it" trend- I swear it is no different than those "Anatomy of a Crime" shows on the channels above 73 on cable. I find anything that breaks down something I DON'T care about in the first place - pedantic and boring.
@misssgolightly: i read that gia bio by stephen sparks! i'm also sucker for trashy historical romance/fiction. which means i shouldn't hate on chick lit. i'll just say that it's not for me. : )
I can't hate on chick-lit. It's harmless.
@misssgolightly: Amen Amen. I feel my IQ drop everytime I give it another chance.
@sarabadara: We sound just GREAT, don't we"?
In all seriousness, I have never read "chick-lit" before. But I picked the first Shopaholic book up in Europe and I've had fun reading her books.
That's exactly how I want my bridesmaids to look.
I know it's earphones, but it looks like man in background's wearing a shiny black headband. Pretty pretty prince!
Just glancing quickly at the thumbnail, I totally thought this was a photo from the Sex and the City Movie.
@mepo: Ahahhahaa me too. Complete with sweatpants and uggs.
That's the "I'm soooo happy to be alive right now" face . . . or perhaps the opposite.
