Aside from what's going on at her waistline and her turquoise Amy Winehouse shoes, I have nothing really bad to say about this.
I hate every item of clothing she has on. Too tight.
Aw, she's got her paper and all.
I don't understand how people can wear ballet flats sans socks in the winter. I see this on the L in Chicago all the time. Makes me feet cold just looking at her. And I'm annoyed at the five shades of black she's got going on there. Boy, I'm cranky. I blame the never-ending primaries.
I really like the color of those shoes. I think they might be cute if they were a bit... sturdier.
i must be a fashion distaster because i love her personal style. i swear i own (or have owned) something similar to every picture i have seen of her on the street.
I need a leather jacket. How have I reached this point in life without a timeless leather jacket?! C'est tragique!
So, are these ballet flats that all these women running around outside in disposable or something ? Come in a pack of 10? becasue it looks damp in that pic!
I really like the color of her shoes too!
@hugnkiss:
Some girl I work with is wearing a skirt, shoes, and NO tights or anything. It's suppose to snow tonight ladies!
@hugnkiss: I totes agree. The same here in London town. It was effing cold yesterday and I couldn't feel my toes and I was wearing boots!
Skinny jeans are as heinous as leggings. I want them to go back to 1988, where they belong. They can take Ankle Zipper Jeans with them.
way to pack a paunch
I love how this picture makes it look like she has a chauffered Prius.
I don't generally like kiddie paparazzi pics, but James Wilkie is the coolest kid ever!
Its warm (if not a little wet) in Boston today! I feel like the entire city has been let out of prison.
Since when did it become okay to wear isotoner slippers out of your house and call them "ballet flats"? Nice color, tho.
@Hamsterpants: I completely concur. I believe that even the skinniest ladies cannot rock them.
I think she is pretty and thin, but looks a mess here.
@brookidy: The funny thing about the "too tight" reaction is that SJP is, what, about the height of a houseplant? "Too tight" = shopping from the Baby Elf Department Store.
Am I the only person who hates flats? Seriously.
Ugh.
My son's response to MY tight little leather jacket was "Oh, Mom ,I much prefer your cup-of-tea clothes to your biker chick clothes.'
She confuses me. She's like Ani Difranco from the waist up, Pete Doherty from the waist down, and then four years old at the feet.
@adj: I am sure you're not. But I love love love them.
She looks cute. I think she always looks pretty chic. Even in the Uggs (I know, I know).
Is it just me or do her boobs looked like they've been pushed together into one big "uniboob"?
Also so glad to see someone else has to roll up their pants b/c they are too long! Yes ... I'm too lazy to take every single pair I have to get hemmed.
@Hamsterpants: Amen, sister. They just do not look good! Even on really skinny people.
@adj: No, I hate them passionately. Also, I'm short, so I need to wear heels to give the illusion of non-squattiness.
@hugnkiss: It actually hit 60 here in NYC the other day.
And isn't that green she's wearing, not gray?
@hugnkiss: I wore flats/no socks yesterday in NYC under the mistaken impression that spring had arrived. As soon as I got out of my apartment I was so pissed at myself.
@bananaballs: I kinda think she looks cool too. But I just spent a lot of money on a really tacky zebra-striped purse. God knows why since I normally use hand-me-down purses, free canvas totes or backpacks.
I bought a pair of the Bitten shoes this weekend, same shade of teal as the shoes in thie picture. They were $8.98, how could I resist? The line was sort of meh, but the posters of SJP were cute, she looks like a fun lady in real life.
If my shirt was all bunched in my coat like that, it would drive me INSAAAAAAAAAANE. Otherwise I see nothing wrong here, move along.
that's a great jacket.
@Rhody: Word. And the sun even poked through for a few minutes at lunch, yay!
I've been wearing flats with no socks periodically through the winter here in Boston. It's fine, but I always keep a pair of boots nearby just in case...but last time I forgot and had to schlep through 2 inches of slush. D'oh.
@hugnkiss: Oh my God, you aren't kidding. NYC is similar to Toronto, and it has not been even close to appropriate weather for those shoes.
she looks super! love the black on black with just a subtle change in tone and texture and the shoes add a shot of vivid colour. as for no socks, duh, it's not like it's snowing! i just spent a week in paris and didn't wear sock once...of course, i'm now in bed with flu...
@leMaldeTete: I think that is a satin jacket. I think owned one of those in the 7th grade. A saitn bomber jacket with a zipper. Am I the only one who recognizes it? Hay wait, that's my jacket! Now I know what happened to it after it disapeared from my locker!
The owner of that Prius is never giving up that spot.
That jacket is a size too small. It looks like there is no way she could lift her arms up enough to drive or answer the phone.
I'll help you out ladies. The jacket and the shoes are Bitten. Both are 8.98. You can get the product at Manhattan Mall (if you dare). On an unrelated note, someone should do a retail story on Steve and Barry's.... I hear it's fucked.
She looks like a size negative 10
@adj: No your not I hate hate hate flats, anyone who says heels are uncomfortable hasn't walked in my shoes. I always find cute ones for cheap, that don't hurt!
Ok so I know I am SOOO late with this but I just went to the Bitten website and she has some pretty wearable stuff! Does anybody know what the quality is like?
@Hamsterpants: uhuh i agree, and apparently the excuse for ankle zipper jeans is that "creativity has no boundaries" *sighs*
@adj: no ur not, and thanks to school with uniforms (in Britain) I have to wear them modays to fridays :@:@:@
Yay a celeb that reads a newspaper - THE best accessory indeed. Methinks Marion Cotillard's been avoiding them. SJP should give her a loan.
Sarah Jessica can wear things that would look ALL WRONG on someone else. Not many people can...LOVE the shoes!
Pretty shoes. I need those. Halp.
I thought it was Madonna at first glance! Except she wasn't wearing any Ed Hardy.
Abby, thank you, I was just about to say that. SJP and Madonna look incredibly similar.
Easy roots
Love her lots.
@ adj
No, u r not the only person that hates flats!! I despise them, they r totally icky-poo!!! Everywhere I read ppl say how "wonderful" they r. Ok, so they might be comfy (from what I've heard-'cuz I won't put them on unless I'm being tragically forced to) but MY GOD r they freaking disgusting as hell!!!!!!
@LuvWeed: That was one scary comment.
