i was standing in line at the coffee shop on campus and the girl in front of me was wearing fucking leggings and uggs. it was FREEZING outside and she thinks that wearing leggings is gonna keep her warm?! and uggs...are just ugly.

Hey, this makes a lot more sense than the several hundred students I saw walking around campus in hoodies and Sketchers without socks. You can always tell the faculty and staff if age doesn't give it away. They're the ones in coats and gloves when it's 15 out.

Everyone in my building walks around in their pajamas. Stacey would have a shit fit.

@libertine17: Actually that sounds warm to me. I often wear just thick tights on cold days and I'm usually fine. Better than wearing pants that are at all loose around your legs -- that's how cold air gets in.

I wasn't hating on LA (I live in SoCal - I love it here). I was hating on people who wear Uggs in LA, because wearing heavy winter boots with a miniskirt and a tank top, when it's 75 degrees out, is fucking ridiculous.

The point was that at least in NY, wearing Uggs at least makes sense because it's cold there.

They're still ugly, though.

What about Sorel boots? Are they more or less acceptable than Uggs? Because I have only lived in cold places and have yet to find cute, fashion forward footwear to tramp down the Nicollet Mall in when the temp is 60 below windchill.

I'll never forget the night we were there for the Christmas parade--I thought we'd be frozen solid by the time it was over! I grew up in New England and lived for a while in Syracuse, and thought I knew from cold winters. But the wind chill out there is something else.

I was always anti-Ugg, but then I had to go to Chicago last week. I had to borrow a ton of cold weather stuff from my sister, and those Uggs rocked. The rest of me was freezing but my feet were toasty.

It was freezing today. I wish I had worn a coat like that.

She has 3 small kids. Any shoes that pull on and off are a bonus when you have little ones around you. Warm too? Bonus. Get off her ass! It's not like she is lacking in opportunities to look faboo.

I own a similar coat from the late 90s. It's hella warm, so I keep it, but try to reserve it for the days when my limbs are freezing off and I don't care what I look like. But hey, if she likes it and is comfy, rock on.

I've been rocking the silk long johns and no-name plush lined snow boots for the last 3 months. Today is the first day I've worn normal shoes since Christmas, I think. I'm totally feeling Julia over here.

Nothing personal against Julia, but she was so overexposed in the 90's that I can no longer watch any of her movies because no matter who she is playing, she is still JULIA ROBERTS.

If I never saw or heard Julia Roberts ever again I would be SO THRILLED.
