Former head Saturday Night Live writer and Emmy Award-winner Tina Fey hosted SNL last night, which included a return appearance on her old perch at the Weekend Update desk. During the segment, subtitled "Women's News", Tina slagged on Mean Girls co-star Lindsay Lohan, raved about the new yogurt that helps you poop, and most interestingly, stumped for Hillary Clinton. Fey questioned why more and more women are voting for Barack Obama, not Clinton, theorizing that it's because Hillary's a "bitch". " Let me say something about that," Tina went on. "She is [a bitch]. And so am I. Bitches get stuff done. That's why Catholic Schools use nuns instead of priests... At the end of the year you hated those bitches, but you knew the capital of Vermont."

I.....am speechless. I want to have her babies.
Nader can kiss my ass, though.
Love it love it love it LOVE IT. I totally saw Tina's support of Hillary coming and I'm SO GLAD she came out with it.
Like my daddy always told me...sometimes you have to be an asshole to get things done.
LOVE Tina Fey even more now. Didn't think that was possible.
I agree COMPLETELY! There definitely has been a lot of criticism of Hillary based in misogyny. I remember Rush Limbaugh's comment - so disgusting, so typical of Rush Limbaugh. Someone has some serious mommy issues.. Anyway, Go Tina! That was awesome!
'this clip is unavailable in your location'. Why you gotta hate on Canada, SNL?
My clit is hard for Tina Fey.
@chunkymonkey: Word! When I lived in Canada, couldn't see shit from NBC.com! What. The. Hell.
I agree with her completely! So much of the criticism of Hillary is based in misogyny. You have to be tough as nails (a "bitch" if you will) to get to where she's gotten. And I remember Rush Limbaugh's comment - so disgusting, so typical of Limbaugh - what a misogynist ass with serious mommy issues. Anyway, Go Tina! Love her!
amy poehler's "yeah, deal with it." just made my weekend.
Yes! Tina!
I love this..so true.
Last night I pledged my love to Tina 4 life because of this. mwah!
I'm voting for the big O, but Tina's speech has been, by far, the most convincing argument to turn my vote.
I don't know which candidate I'm for, but I'm glad that someone finally responded to those oft-repeated-but-still-idiotic criticisms of Hillary, and I'm so pleased that it was someone as cool as Tina Fey.
I don't like her any more.
I was so happy to see this. My boyfriend, an Obama supporter, said it was the best argument for Clinton he'd seen.
I hope people in Texas and Ohio were watching. 12% of Ohio Dems are still undecided.
I agree with her completely! So much of the criticism of Hillary has been based in misogyny. I remember Rush Limbaugh's comment - what an ignorant, disgusting thing to say - typical Limbaugh. Anyway, Go Tina! That was awesome!
TINA FEY FOR PRESIDENT.
Goddamit, it has nothing to do with Hillary being a bitch and everything with her being sheisty as Hell! I don't trust her, if I did I'd vote for her. I think she's got more in common with Republicans than most people realize. The fact that she sat on the board of Wal-Mart is reason enough for me not to want to have anything to do with her.
Once again, it's not that she's a woman or a "bitch", it's that I don't think she's trustworthy and will put the interests of big business before that of the rest of us. So, yeah.
I've still got a crush on Obama, but go Tina!
Also, I'm so happy you guys are posting this weekend! We heart you forever for deigning to entertain us during your off-hours. :)
my heart's still with barry but i lurv tina fey!
@Your_sisterinlaws_baby_cousin_Traci: um, it's the weekend update on snl. laugh a little?
oh yeah, it's SO empowering to vote for hillary as a sort of backdoor constitutional loophole method of voting for bill.
@chunkymonkey
maybe try connecting via a proxy server. Same idea as this: [lifehacker.com]
When you go to the site that post mentions, use the "select only proxies based in COUNTRY" option, and check "US."
Yeah, that does nothing for me who doesn't care about almost any of those factors. I care a lot more about their ideals and resolutions. About their integrity and moral gumption. Obama has the intellect, the moral integrity, and the now-how to make this country not only a better place, but to make other countries believe it.
I don't really find that in Hillary. I don't. Though Tina Fey is pretty catty and funny.
@KaiserNeko: Yes, you're right, Obama does have the "NOW-HOW." If or when he's elected, he'll say, "Now, how do I do this?" Hillary, on the other hand, has the KNOW-HOW.
i want to have 1 million tina fey babies immediately.
i am also sick to death of people going nuts over how much they hate hillary and love barack. vote for whichever one you want but calm down with the hillary hatred/barack love. they don't seem all that different to me.
In my world bitch has never been a trend, it's been a way of life.
Still love Tina Fey but I don't need her to tell me that bitches get stuff done.
I have tons of black women in my family to do that for me.
@kshenkshen: 'Cause when I vote, it's all about what empowers me personally, not what is actually best for the country.
@rose0red: that two term limit thing is just holding the united states back.
@shuffler:
when Bill Clinton was first elected, he also had Now How. No one is completely prepared to be President of the United States no matter who they sleep next to in bed.
When I saw this last night, my first thought was "this will so end up on Jezebel!" Love. It. My mother loved it too. "Bitch is the new black" is going to be her new catch-phrase.
I also thought it was a good balance to the opener of the show, about the CNN folks being in love with Obama. A little equal time. Huckabee was also surprisingly funny, still hate the guy, but at least he can take a joke. "What? Super delegates are only for the Democrats? Whoops."
@kshenkshen: So Lois Capps and Mary Bono were just trying to get around term limits?
What's worse: disliking Hill 'cuz she's a bitch, or disliking Obama 'cuz he's male?
Vote the issues. Fo' sho'.
Love Tina Fey.
@shuffler: I dunno. He's managed to run an efficient, effective campaign and that's a good test of executive ability. Hillary... not so much. She's spent millions of dollars on lousy advisors and can't manage to pay a small debt to a deli owner. I'm not in love with Obama at all so I'm just commenting as an interested observer.
And, it was really unfair to take advantage of someone's typo like that. Clever but, unfair.
@rose0red: they were if people voted for them because they secretly (or not so secretly) wanted to keep their husbands in power. voting for hillary in the hope of getting bill to be co-president instead of first man is absurd and fucked up.
i love barack obama, but even if he were to win and win again and give our country the best eight years its ever had i wouldn't be calling for any repeals of the 22nd amendment. nobody gets to be president forever. this isn't cuba.
@kshenkshen: @rose0red: Or is it only ok for a wife to run after her husband has kicked off?
Oh yes yes yes.
@Your_sisterinlaws_baby_cousin_Traci:
Absolutely, could not agree more. There are a few aspects of Senator Clinton's personality that I find to be extremely troubling as a potential commander-in-chief, none of which have to do with her "bitchiness".
Her extreme secretiveness, and unwillingness to take other viewpoints into consideration. This was obviously a factor in her disastrous handling of health care in the 90s, (with a Democratic congress/President, she alienated many natural allies and set the country back 15 years on the issue of universal healthcare).
Now it is evident in her unwillingness to take advice outside her campaign bubble, which leads me to:
Her valuing loyalty over all other attributes; we see that her mismanaged campaign, and most disturbing of all, her unwillingness to acknowledge uncomfortable truths, such as her husband's treatment of women, and again, the direction of her campaign.
I hesitate to compare her to Bush, because she is obviously functioning on a much higher level than that fool ever could, but I feel that Bush's intrinsic stubbornness, unwillingness to change or acknowledge uncomfortable truths that don't fit into his world view, and sense of entitlement, have done more damage to this country that his stupidity or political views. It's becoming clearer to me, the closer I follow this campaign, that Senator Clinton does possess those dangerous personal characteristics as well, and the number of bills she may have sponsored in the Senate can never change that.
loves it! (but still voting for kucinich.)
@rose0red: i'm criticizing one pro-hillary argument (the pro-bill one). don't make this into more than it is.
sorry to be so ranty, it just bugs the hell out of me to hear people dismiss concerns about her management style as sexist...and I really did want to vote for her, because it would be exciting to have a woman in charge
@check_please: Is he even still in the race? (I'm kind of ashamed to say I don't know the answer, really, is he still in?)
Thoughts on Nader by the way? I'm still pissed about the last 2 times he ran, so I'm incapable of being objective.
And IMHO, Tina's entire lead-in to this pro-Hillary rant was littered with insults to women for being slutty (Lohan), old (65y olds), fat (Kirstie Allie) and powerful (Oprah). VERY disappointing.
Clinton/Fey 08 in the motherfucking house.
two things i learned from last nights SNL that Tina Fey and i have in common:
1. loves yogurt that makes you poop
2. supports Hil
Bitches, what Tina had to say had absolutely nothing to do with voting or not voting for Barry for whatever fucking reasons you may want to vote for him. The opening was funny as fuck simply because it lambasted the media and the absolute FACT that they suck Obama's dick hard and long every goddamn day.
I fucking love Tina Fey and yesterday just made me love her more. For fucking ONCE a popular celebrity came out and said something good about someone that isn't fucking Obama. Don't vote for Clinton for whatever reason you don't want to. I don't think she was telling you too. Her only fucking argument was that her BITCHINESS is not a negative. And I agree.
Stupid writer's strike resolution. Canadians get no love from no shows no mo.
@sjct: Whoa, convincing the country that they want what you're selling is EXACTLY what Bush has been able to do during both of his campaigns. I think we can all agree that this was not "a good test of executive ability."
Even idiots can rally the masses.
