Rap star/weed connisseur Snoop Dogg appeared on Larry King Live on Friday evening, where he discussed parenting and politics and made a big fan out of Larry (who actually dropped words like "crackalackin'" and "shizzle"). In a pre-taped segment, the two went to a restaurant to eat chicken and waffles; Larry ordered an Arnold Palmer (ice tea and lemonade), so Snoop invented the Tiger Woods (lemonade and water). When they discussed politics, Snoop wouldn't disclose who has his vote, but he did say that if he does vote for Obama, it wouldn't just be because he's black. In fact, he seemed pretty fond of both Hillary and Bill Clinton when discussing the race for the presidency. Clip above.

stacyinbean heart's snoop in more ways than she can count.
The first time I encountered an Arnold Palmer, the place was CALLING it a Tiger Woods. I had never heard of it, and didn't know it was golf-related, so I thought it was because he was half-black, half-Asian, and the drink is half-yellow, half-brown. I thought this was pretty clever, and then felt guilty about it.
@stacyinbean: I like him, too, and I can not explain why. He's a former pimp, has been known to abuse women and seems like a pretty crappy father, but I find him charming. Weird.
"I'm not down with the Republican Party OR the Democratic Party. I represent the Gangsta Party."
Best quote of the day. Possibly a new Facebook status.
he's adorable.
REALLY??? Did Larry King just say "Crack-a-lackin"?!?! And "The man who put 'The Izzle' in 'Fo Shizzle!'"
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!
Is ther anybody cooler than Snoop? After watching his show I love him even more, and according to me he is the best performer/personality in all of hip-hop. For shizzle.
Larry was actually lucid in those clips.
W.W.S.D?
@debbiedoesdamage: For me I think it's the copious marijuana usage. Even if he claims he doesn't smoke anymore, he's perma-high to me. I also like how he spends all his time in a shed behind his house, weird, but I like it.
God, I love that man! My senior year in HS I walked around telling people "You don't love me, you just love my doggie style!" It did go down a treat at my mostly-mormon high school.
@stacyinbean: He says he doesn't smoke anymore? Pshaw. Snnoooooooop! //slide whistle
LK saying 'crackalackin' makes me giggle
I love Snoop too. And who would've thought that after the whole murder trial and all that back in the '90s, he'd be such a cultural icon today, beloved by whities all around.
What I would give to spend a day with Snoop-a-loop.
And chicken & waffles = total deliciousness.
I love how Snoop gives off the "Elder Statesman" vibe.
@summerwheatley: Yeah, I gotta get back to LA this year. Last time I came, my pal out there introduced me to Roscoe's and In-N-Out. It was a great visit!
@debbiedoesdamage: That is sort of a disconnect-- especially when you consider how brazenly sexist his rap lyrics are.
Only Snoop could promote porn, drugs, the gangsta lifestyle, be on Sesame Street, coach kid's football, and be a roll model for kids and adults alike. Oh how I love you, Snoop!
Have y'all seen his new video and heard his new song? My God, it's GENIUS. If you've not, do a search for "Sensual Seduction" on YouTube and be prepared to be WOWED.
If I could send 5 people to the moon on a rocket, ne'er to return, he would DEFINITELY be on the roster. Friggen hate that man with a passion.
Anyone got any news on the primaries for the gansta party not the gangster party. ;-)
Oh Snoop, you had me a fo'shizzle. Sigh
@crushdmb: omg, that video is amazing! Seriously people; watch it.
Add me to the list of "I like Snoop but I don't know why". He definitely has charisma.
@DorothyZbornak: check out M&M's Soul Food, A1 Burgers, Simply Wholesome, Alex's Fish Market, etc. It's weird cause all of these places kinna mark a period in my childhood lol. They're all good but I go to Simply Wholesome the most now b/c it's healthy.
.. about Snoop - he reminds me of some of my family members - and he's hilarious.
"I represent the Gangsta Party." Love him. Somewhat inexplicably.
@rsr26: I know it. Kind of like how I still like Pink, even though her music sucks and she's annoying.
@debbiedoesdamage: Except of course, that she isn't actually offensive, just crappy.
I love him SO much! I love his music, and my mom loves him too. I know I would freak. out. if I ever met him.
@crushdmb: Thanks! I have been listening to some of his older albums, and now I can not wait for the new one!
@crushdmb: I don't get it. Why should Snoop be a role model? I can appreciate his sense of humor, but I wouldn't want my children looking up to somebody who isn't allowed into the UK or Australia because of his criminal record.
P.S. I know that his lyrics aren't always the kindest towards women but at the same time some of his lyrics ARE amazing, and he has never tried to say that he wasn't a pimp/gangster/whatever. I appreciate that he is straight up about it.
man. saying you're from the "middle class, disenchanted, white girl from the 'burbs" party has NO ring to it.
@knitsandwich: SERIOUSLY, it's amazing. It was on at the bowling alley a couple weekends ago, and I COULD NOT take my eyes away!
I think we all like him so much because he is not perfect and has never said he's perfect, and for such a huge hip-hop star he doesn't have much of an ego -- he really does NOT take himself seriously. He's a big ass goof ball and reminds me a bit of my goofy, stoner uncle.
@crushdmb: Even though the outfits and hair are over the top 80's style amazing, he still manages to look sexy to me- maybe it is the way he moves?
@Lymed: He's a role model ESPCIALLY for at-risk kids BECAUSE he's been through so much crap. He understands what it's like to have problems. He can be like, "I have BEEN THERE. I understand where you're coming from." Kids don't listen to adults who don't understand them. Snoop does. That and while he's had his problems in the past, he's really cleaned up his act. And that's part of the point -- I know plenty of awesome people who have criminal records who have turned their lives around and are not any less great because of it.
@99centbar: It's def the way he moves. I also like that he's so over the top and silly. I bet he knows how to work it in bed!
@Lymed: Oh, and I've heard him speak about this a lot lately. He's out there promoting his football league like CRAZY and he's doing some awesome stuff for kids.
@crushdmb: I don't think he's cleaned up his act enough to be a roll model. It seems like it's not in the past, he was sentenced on drug and gun charges less than a year ago. If he stops carrying illegal firearms and drugs around, then maybe he can go on Sesame Street.
You know the world has changed when Snoop D O double G is on Larry King talkin' bout how he was raised not knowing that women were to be respected and revered. Therefore he can glide from the fat stacks he made from his totally misogynistic 'bitches & ho's' albums right into the 'sexy, snazzy, sensual stuff' he's making now wherein he raps about how beautiful a bitch is, I mean how beautiful a woman is.
@Lymed: When I get home, I'll try to remember to find some links and stuff so you can see what good he's actually doing. The man is not perfect (and he admits it), but he's finally growing up. His football league is pretty damn awesome and he's doing quite a lot of good. He has a HUGE hand in it -- he coaches, he travels with them. He said he doesn't do a lot of media because he doesn't want it to be about HIM. He wants to make it national. I think it's dang awesome.
@Lymed: Also, uh, he's BEEN on Sesame Street, quite a few years ago in fact......
He did commercials for AOL and was name-checked in "The Devil Wears Prada". Gangsta? I'm just sayin'. In five years he'll be on 'Hollywood Squares'.
Of course: It Ain't Nothin' but a Gangsta Party. Sorry, Snoop. Tupac got there years ago and it's a party of one.

@crushdmb: I didn't know about that. I think it's great that he's doing something like that. I still don't know if I want him to be considered a role model though.
@ImpossibleCheeseburgerPie: Uh, he's been doing that sort of stuff for years. He's gangsta AND commercial (and he is quite proud of this).
Another vote for the gangsta party here. I've had a mad crush on Snoop for years. I thought I was destined to walk the earth alone with this one till I read this post.
@crushdmb: I'm gonna make an edit to my last statement. I don't know if I want him considered a role model on a large scale basis. One on one, with kids he meets through his coaching or other projects, then he might be a great role model.
I really like Pink. She won my undying admiration after "stupid girls" not to mention "it's just you and your hand tonight" that's the greatest line ever. See ya dude. @debbiedoesdamage:
@titania1285: I really did laugh out loud when I read this comment
@ThaKadinskyPapers: I think you nailed it.
I watched this interview and I won't lie: I was pretty impressed with S-N-double-O-P D-O-double-gizee! He actually seemed pretty, uh, articulate. He used the word "conglomerate," which I can't even spell, and talked about how he really admired Johnny Cash and loves country music. He is really multi-facted, and in my opionion, a brilliant businessman.
Also, hot. I don't know why, but he could talk the pants right off me. Fo' shizzle.
@ImpossibleCheeseburgerPie:
He was on the L-Word too!
