Reynolds beginning in 2008. Executives for the company tell the Winston-Salem Journal that the decision to pull all print ads is not based on Congressional protests, but merely a "business decision." According to the AP, the initial protest — which focused on tobacco advertising in women's magazines — was launched because Camel No. 9 ads "threaten the health of the teenagers and young women who form a large part of [women's magazine] readership."
