This morning, the Today Show had a segment on how vital female friendships are to a woman's mental and, surprisingly, physical health. A statistic quoted is that women who have strong bonds with their girlfriends cut their chances of dying young by 60%. We have to admit that the footage of women talking about their friendships played to a soundtrack of the Golden Girls theme song, accompanied by images of Lucy and Ethel and Laverne and Shirley, choked us up a little, and we're not even ragging it right now. (But if we were, we'd totally be synced up with our closest bitches.) Many of the women interviewed said that their relationships with other women are more important than those with their own husbands or boyfriends. What do you guys think?
